    The problem

Everyone is growing their own channel.

Most brands we meet have an Amazon agency, a paid search agency and a paid social agency, and each one is usually good at its piece. They just don't talk to each other the way they should, so every agency reports on its own numbers and somebody at the brand ends up stitching it together by hand, while Ulta.com and Sephora.com sit in nobody's scope and don't get proactively managed at all.

Each of those agencies is judged on its own channel, which means the natural thing for each of them to ask for is more of your budget.

    Where each channel fits

    Demand generation and demand capture.

Some channels put your brand in front of people who were not looking for it yet, and others are there when someone already knows what they want. Both matter, but a lot of wasted budget comes from judging a TikTok campaign by the return you would expect from an Amazon search ad.

    Demand generation

Reaching people before they are searching for you.

    • Meta, across Facebook and Instagram
    • TikTok
    • Amazon DSP
    • Streaming TV and online video

    Judged on

New customers, reach, and the lift it creates in branded search

    Demand capture

Being there when they are ready to buy.

    • Amazon Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands
    • Shopify and your own site
    • Google Search and Shopping
    • Ulta.com, Sephora.com and Target.com

    Judged on

Return on ad spend, conversion, and share of the searches in your category

We plan both out of the same budget, so when a TikTok push starts lifting branded searches on Amazon, the capture side is already set up to take them instead of paying twice for the same shopper.

    One plan

Most brands have one strategy for Amazon, another for paid social and another for search, each written by a different team at a different time. We start with one plan for the whole brand and let every channel take its direction from it, so the Ulta launch and the Amazon push are pulling the same way.

    One team

The people who build that plan are the same people running Amazon, the retailer sites and your paid media day to day. When something shifts in one channel, whoever needs to know about it is already on the team and usually hears about it that afternoon.

    One number

Rather than every channel reporting its own win, we agree with you on two or three measures that show whether the brand is actually growing, and the whole account gets steered against those. You see them every week, and so does everyone working on your brand.
